2005 yamaha yz 250   ( two stroke)  bike runs very strong and is in good condition with normal wear and tare for age.  there is alot of aftermarket parts on bike   pro taper bars,pro-circuit works pipe,procircuit factory sound shorty silencer,  has about 10 hours on new wiseco piston and rings  , works connection holeshot device on front suspension,  has renthal chain and rear sprocket, v-force3 reeds,  has hotwheels graphics and n-style grippy seat.  front tire has about 80 percent life left rear tire is about 50 percent will need to be changed if bike was to be raced but plenty of life left for playin on it.  bike is very fast,  original owner, raced 2 seasons when bike was new then used as practice/play bike.     selling for my brother whos interest has changed to snowmobiles and thats were his time and money are going.  please call with any questions or if you would like to come and see the bike. 630-673-3164  Darrell

I'm listing this bike for a neighbor/friend.  I'm familiar with the bike and feel comfortable representing it.This is a 1983 YZ 490, the largest displacement 2 stroke available from Yamaha.The bike starts easily, has great compression and everything works as expected.This is not a "Time Capsule-virgin bike" and it does have some character marks you would expect to find on an off road bike from this era.The seat cover needs to be replaced, the rear fender has a chip  in it, the rear tire is ready to be replaced, however I will supply a brand new Maxxis tire with the bike.The suspension is plush with good damping and rebound, the brakes work fine, in fact all the controls work smoothly.The front rim does have a stress crack visible on one photo, the rear rim is straight but I do see a bit of a flat spot on it.The gas tank is nice on the bike it isn't dried out, no signs of cracks or gouges. To have a presentable race bike, the rear tire, seat cover and rear fender should be replaced, however and most importantly, this bike runs perfectly and still has the neck snapping power you can only find on a big bore 2 stroke.This is a reasonably priced mechanically sound bike and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have, please email me.Shipping:Ill help with shipping any way I can, however, it is up to you to make arrangements with a transport company.
